Team Leaders are the catalysts for team building and personal growth at SuperCamp. This position includes mentoring and acting as a role model for campers, leading activities, facilitating team meetings, and encouraging camp spirit. In short, Team Leaders assist Facilitators in orchestrating the environment that promotes Quantum Learning. They are energetic and enthusiastic, and are committed to making camp great for the campers.

Job Information:

  • Be fully emotionally and mentally present during pre-camp staff training.
  • Build relationships with students in an appropriate, fun way.
  • Be substance-free for the duration of your contract.
  • Create trust and a safe place for team members to be open.
  • Stay on premises for the entire time campers are there.
  • Supervise students at all times.
  • Be familiar with many games and activities.
  • Lead activities such as soccer, basketball, yoga, dance, chill time, or anything else you can come up with!
  • Be willing to wake up at 6:30am. :)
  • Live in a clean, well-kept college dorm room.
  • Maintain camper emotional well-being.
  • Maintain and manage your own emotional well-being.
  • Facilitate group discussions.
  • See that all students are in their rooms with their lights out, on time.
  • Be a role model for campers and other staff members.
  • Facilitate effective conflict resolution between campers.
  • Gently guide team members into participation.
  • Create team spirit and bonding.
  • Play big ... real big.
  • Commit to do whatever it takes to create a safe and joyful learning environment.
  • Participate in all Team Leader staff meetings.
  • Uphold SuperCamp agreements, values, and beliefs.
  • Evaluate team members at the end of camp.
  • Work as a staff team to accomplish logistical needs.
  • Perform entertaining skits.
  • Run music in the main room and course rooms.
  • Arrive early to all scheduled events.
  • Co-lead a team of 12-14 members (ages 11-17).

Requirements:

  • At least 19 years old, or completed at least one academic year at a college or university.
  • Vibrant and engaging.
  • Willing to accept guidance, direction, and supervision from peers and leaders.
  • Professional in your written and verbal communication.
  • Sound judgment, able to effectively problem solve, and the ability to build rapport through your leadership.
  • Integrity, honesty, kindness, patience, and a genuine concern for others.
  • Excited to work with children in an indoor/outdoor setting and live in a close-knit community.
  • Experienced in working with youth (Preferred).
